Hello my name is Michelle and it is lovely to meet you and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking your time to visit my store Home & Hose.
Let me tell you briefly about myself, I am married to Stephen and a mother of an 11 year old boy Bailey. Currently work at a leading Hardware store in part-time role where I have been for past six years but need a new challenge. I live on the beautiful NSW South Coast at Batemans Bay where I have lived most of my life so you could almost call me a local.
I have always been house proud and when people visit my home it is always commented on favorably which gives me a bit of a buzz, as I have always had the knack to design my home on a budget whilst looking a million dollars! I have spent many years slaving away in retail world for bosses and always wanted to have my own Homewares business one day but only recently taken the step & thought you know what I can do this!
I have a passion of revamping furniture to one off pieces as I love the uniqueness of turning an old pieces of furniture to one off’s and adding my own touch. I have a great eye for a bargain piece that will add value to a room and style on a budget.
As tacky as this might sound I am only happy if my customers are thrilled & excited about their products and see value for money from the things they purchase from me. Most of us are all time poor or money poor hence my slogan “Champagne taste on a beer budget” I want my customers to feel good about their purchases and this hopefully encourages them to tell other people which is how I will build my store and give me better buying power…so spread the word people.
My business is mainly online but I do have a little studio @ Surf Beach which is open by appointment. This allows people to look at things before they purchase or simply to save people money that live locally so they don’t have to pay postage. Postage has been my biggest issue setting up my website as I see businesses similar to mine advertising on T.V giving free postage but when I look at their absorbent mark ups I think “Yep I could do that also with that mark up” but I am trying to keep my prices affordable. So at this stage I am going to have to get you to email me at smb.sweeny@westnet.com.au with the items you are interested in & get back to you with freight costs until I can get a better solution…Hang in there guys I am working on it! I will only EVER charge you what it costs me for postage no handling fees etc, I will get it to you for the cheapest price possible.
I have just started attending some local markets such as Braidwood & Batehaven to get my name out there so if you live locally come down & check out my store and say “hello”. There will also be a Facebook page setup very soon which will keep you up to date with all the new stock arriving and would really appreciate if you could “Like” it share it with your family & friends.I look forward to sharing this exciting Journey with you all and hope I can inspire you to decorate your homes and give you some ideas for gift buying.
